On August 4th, the semi-final of 2018 The Third Shanghnag Yangpu "Global Startup Competition" successfully completed in Sheraton Parkway North Toronto Hotel, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Canada.
The Toronto Division Competition was jointly hosted by Homevalley, Canada-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, Shunde International Students Association in Canada and BDO Canada. It was also supported by some universities and innovation institutions such as Innovation Center of Toronto University, DMZ Incubator of Ryerson University, Velocity Incubator of University of Waterloo, Communitech Incubator, Innovation Center of Queen's University and FoundersBeta.
This semi-final competition started with a video introducing Shanghai Yangpu innovation and entrepreneurship and the opening speech from Qiu Jian, founder of Homevalley. Mr. Qiu expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event, the Canada-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, the Shunde International Students Association of Canada and BDO Canada, and warmly welcomed the contestants. Later on, Godwin Chan, the City Councilman and Chairman of the Economic and Trade Development Committee of Richmond Hill City, welcomed and supported the competition in Richmond Hill, and presented the city government with a congratulatory letter. Subsequently, Li Ding, Chairman of Canada Guardian Group, Daniel Fu, President of Canada-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, Ammie Huang, President of Shunde International Students Association of Canada, and Daniel Ma, Senior Manager of BDO Canada, delivered speeches and expressed their wishes.

After a long day, among those 16 projects, 8 porjects were promoted to the final competition and Trexo Robotics, Aux Mode, and Udesignit Software won the first, second and third prizes in the Toronto Division.

Daniel Ma, senior manager at BDO Canada, Alex Cheng, senior business analyst at BDO Canada, Ding Huakun, chairman of Goldenwise Capital Management, Linda Chao, senior manager at bank, and Qiu Jian, founder of Homevalley, together were the judges of this competition.
After announcing the winners, Qiu Jian, founder of Homevalley, Daniel Fu, President of Canada-China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, and Daniel Ma, senior manager of BDO Canada, awarded the top three winners with certificates and announced the successfully ending of the semi-final competition in Toronto.
