Notice About Shanghai Yangpu Global Startup Competition(SV)

To all technology companies, science and technology parks, creative spaces, and innovation incubators:
To incorporate the ideals of the "Yangpu's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Construction Project," we have especially hosted the Third Shanghai Yangpu Global Startup Competition. The competition’s goal is to find more innovative and entrepreneurial talents, encourage them to start their own business and help these talents to successfully realize their innovative entrepreneurship dreams. The competition will announce the following:

1)   Theme of the Competition
 
Our goal is to collect more than 1,000 innovative and entrepreneurship projects worldwide. 50 highly experienced judges from investment institution will choose 100 winning projects for the Outstanding Award, Elite Award, Cutting-Edge Award, and Enterprising Award, providing up to 5 million RMB (780K in US dollars) per project, in total 200 million (30 million USD) supporting funds. There will also be a follow-up system tracking and facilitating those who won the prize to be better adapted to the China market.

2)   Entry Conditions
 
The competition is for companies (projects) that have their business registered in Shanghai's Yangpu district as an independent legal entity. As for projects that are not yet registered, they must land in Yangpu within 6 months of the competition.
1. The establishment time of the company (project) shall not exceed 5 years (established after January 1, 2013);
2. The companies (projects) should have the ability to innovate and have high growth potential with no intellectual property rights disputes and bad records;
3. Innovative and entrepreneurial companies (projects) that have won the “3310” and other district-level talent awards can also participate in the competition. However, rewards will not be granted again;
4. Individuals and companies (projects) who have previously won the “Yangpu Entrepreneurial Star” competition award cannot enter again.

3)   Competition Schedule
 
The competition will hold preliminaries, semi-finals and finals in respective stages:
 
Entry Submission: from now to July 14, everyone can sign up for the competition. 
 
Preliminaries: From July 1 to July 14, partner parks, incubators, and institutions will separately select and confirmed semi-final entries. The companies (projects) that have not yet landed in Shanghai Yangpu will be evaluated by the organizer of the competition for their entries to the semi-finals. After that, all the chosen projects will be sent to the judges for them to make decisions for semi-finals.
Semi-finals: There will be 8 venues in China and 6 international ones. The semi-finals will be held on different dates ranging from July to August. In Silicon Valley region, the semi-final(roadshow) will take place on July 26^th, 2018.
Finals: In late September. The judges will jointly select the winners from the finals' road show.
